Default Anyone Know anything about the new Spektrum Radio coming out?

All:
Does anyone have any info on the new Spektrum radio coming out? I have heard that it will have full telemetry capability. I would sure like to know what anticipated pricing is going to be and capabilities.

Thanks
Glenn

It seems that they (Spektrum) have a lot of problems with their current systems. Maybe should resolve those first?

Such as? I have been using my Spektrum now for over a year and have had no problems other than I did something (pulled the trainer switch during a range check) and caused my airplane to lose it's bind on the ground). Other than my mistake I have had rock solid performance and very glad I bought my radio. I have been a life long Futaba user but since I bought my Spektrum I have had nothing but good things to say about it.

I am curious as to the new radio coming out as Ihave gone togiant scale, gas and currently using the DX6i. I have had no issues but looking for moreoptions. I have looked into buying the Aurora but currently all they have fortelemetry is the onboard receiver voltage. The other data is in the works. However if Spektrum is full telemetry capable when itcomes out and the price is right, well Why buy more receivers etc when I already fly Spektrum?

Any body know if the current AR receivers will be telemetry compatible?

I doubt they will unless there is a servo type lead you can place in your receiver to give feedback to the transmitter. However this is why I started this post as I am clueless. Sure would like to know what they are doing. I cant stand the "secrecy" lol.

That 10T is about the ugliest thing I have ever seen, I'll stick with my 9303.

The trim switches on the 10T don't look digital.

Two reasons.

First, the Aurora is already out and working which means their full telemetry package will almost certainly be available before the Spektrum product.

Second, I see absolutely no reference in the Spektrum literature to DSM2. This is a clue that they will very probably be using some type of frequency hopping (FHSS) technology which will render the new radio incompatible with the older AR type receivers.

It is DSM2. Don't know why they would change as there is no problem with it.

making the jump to a hop system, is the only thing that might make the new radio attractive. especially if yer the kinda guy that goes to places like SEFF, Joe Nall, or IRCHA.

JR has been selling DSM-J radio systems to the Japanese home market for some time. DSM-J is a frequency hopping system, and was developed to allow JR to sell higher output transmitters in accordance with Japanese communications restrictions. Fixed channel 2.4Ghz equipment is more limited in output by law than frequency hopping 2.4Ghz radio equipment. The DSM-J equipment is incompatible with DSM/DSM2 equipment.

Spektrum branded radio gear isn't focused on the Japanese market, however, and will likely remain committed to DSM2 modulation for the foreseeable future.
