Tactic ttx404 2.4 ghz radio
hello,
radio link= http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXYWM9&P=0
just wondering if these radios are any good ? im looking for just basic 4 channel 2.4 ghz radios for a couple of planes. i have a futaba 2.4 7c for my bigger planes but if this radio works well for 79.99 its cheaper than buying new rx's for it.
so if you have used this radio please let me know how it performs compaired to others out in the market
thanks
bass

RE: Tactic ttx404 2.4 ghz radio
if you already have a 7C, why not just use that?
That way you have the computer programmability that it appears the Tactic lacks....
just curious...

No, it's the 7 channel RX. I don't actually fly Futaba's FASST stuff, but I thought I would pass along that I've seen these receivers in the classifieds.
The radio that the original poster was looking at was 80 bucks, so I mentioned the 80 dollar Futaba receivers.

thx for the replies,
part of the thing is that my 7 c model memory is about full so im looking for other options (cheaper) that wont cost as much as another 7c. on a fixed income so 79.99 is a good deal for me if the tactic is a good working system.
so if ANYONE WHO HAS tried this radio can give me some input it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks again

I have one of these radios that I am currently reviewing. Very simple to set up and use. All-in-all, I'm very impressed.
It has V-Tail and Elevon mixing too.
It even has a wireless buddy box, but you need two of them (It only works with another TTX404)

mike,
thanks for the reply, does the rx have a single antenna or double ? also when do you think the review will be done ? would love to see it in action . plus i am a little worried as they say a full range rx but looks to only have 1 antenna. so hoping it passes your review.
like i said i have several planes (4 channel) that need radios or should say that i want to change to 2.4 ghz just cant afford another higher end radio at this time so for the price they will work well for my needs.

I had to take a large break from the hobby due to some health issues. I don’t move around very good so flying has been difficult. I do have a Grandson that is old enough to help me and he is interested in learning to fly so I’m going to try to make a comeback. I miss the good castor/nitro fumes and the great people that goes along with it. I couldn’t resist seeing if you remembered me. Sorry to hijack your thread bassmanh.

RE: Tactic ttx404 2.4 ghz radio
I have this radio and maidened it today. It came with the Skyfly Max I purchased. I've been out of the hobby for over a year now and wanted to get something RTF topark fly with. I flew it today at our full sized rc field and though i wasnt too impressed with the plane at my altitude (Denver), the radio did a fine job without a single hiccup over three flights and probably a quarter mile (?) away. I've yet to do a full range check but it seemed fine to me.
What I'm really curious about is finding out how to use the elevon feature. The manufacturers site mis-links the manual to thier 3 channel pistol TX. I'd like to get a PNP Stryker and use this radio for it but I'll need to know how to enable the elevon mix function first. $30 six channel Rx's are pretty appealing!
Any help?
