Don't know about the JR but the Futaba 9C can easily be switched between PCM and PPM operation.

Default PCM to FM

The 9C will work with your existing receivers. The JR8103 will not.

As stated, the 9C will work fine with your stuff. You will also like the radio! It is the best I have used, Bar none! It rocks. You will like it. I ordered it and 4 PCM receivers and 3 FM Receivers for it and it works great with all.

Default PPM and PCM = FM

"OK I want to upgrade to a PCM 9C or the JR8103 PCM "

To clear up some confusion have with your question ?.

The 9C wil work with your exsisting "FM" recievers while in PPM mode, It will not operate them in PCM mode.

Each model Memory can be programed for which ever mode you need .

If you want to use PCM , you will need PCM recievers.
