need information on old futaba FP-T7FG/k fm 7chan radio

I dug this out of my closet the other day, but I never did have the power coard for it. I must have taken it apart at one time and tried to figure out a battery pack for it. I managed to loose the battery pack soi cant get the specifications on it. I seem to have lost my receiver also.

I'd like to buy a battery pack for it or build one that I can charge with my nimh charger to use with it.

Second, Is it still possible to buy crystals for a receiver? It looks like im running 72.716 or 718 I need to take a magnifying glass to try n read the last number. I was planning on just finding a olt futaba receiver on ebay to use, but I would need to find the proper crystal.

This Tx would need to be Gold Stickerd. Are you using an FM RF Module? If the battery is the standard 8cell AA, it is just a matter of the right connector and the correct polarity.

I dont even remember what the battery was. It was a internal deal and required a external charger to be plugged in and thats why I tossed it in the closet for the longest time. From one of the posts I read this is a legal radio as it is a fm vs the am models

I would just call Tower Hobbies or Hobby Services and they will know what type of battery to use. It is most likely a 9.6v 8cell NiCad or NiMh pack and just needs the correct connector for the inside of Tx and the correct polarity.

Perhaps you could reply to one of the threads from the links I posted in this thread.

I think I used to own a radio just like this.

The Wall Chargers they usually provide with the radios are fairly inexpensive, although I prefer something like the Triton II.

You can also google "RC Hobby Battery" and it will give you several companies that sell hobby batteries Try Batteries America or nobatteries.com. Ihave bought from both of them in the past and have been very happy with the stuff they sell.

Wrong, wrong, wrong! The old 7FGK Gold Box does not use a common two-on-two, and two long cell
battery. It uses what looks like nine cells in a 3 across 3 long configuration, but one is actually a
dummy with only 8 cells connected. The common battery will not fit the space provided.

You can still purchase this battery through your local Great Planes authorized hobby dealer or through Tower Hobbies.

The stock number on this battery is:

FUTM1430 NT8H TX NICD 9.6V 500M J G PCM retail price $39.99

And Eloy is correct, while it may look like it has 9 cells in the pack, one is actually a "dummy" cell.
