Futaba 6EXA or Hitec Flash 5 for first radio?

I am currently building my first plane, an LT40, and I was wondering which of these 2 radios you would recommend.
Thanks in advance for any input.

I use a lot of Hitec servos (with mixed results (weak gears on the older designs)), but as far a general radio is concerned, you can't go wrong with Futaba. I have been flying Futaba for 31 years.

p.s. That is a not a knock on Hitec radios

Futaba 6EXA or Hitec Flash 5 for first radio?

I'ld go with the Hitec.. buddy cords an compatibility better than the 6EXA (since this is your first plane), teh 6EXA uses a new type of training cord that is not compatible with older Futaba radios
Another options is the Airtronics RD600 sport or VG6000 if you have instructors in your club with this radios.

Why settle for less go Futaba.
I would get at least the 6XAS though.
A 9C would be even better. Any less radio
then the last two and you will be buying a second
one shortly.
