According to Tower's site they're not in yet. Flyers like Tower Talk are long lead-time items, so they must have planned to have them in stock by now but it doesn't appear to be the case.

speaking of Tower & the Royal Evo, has anyone been able to decipher what options come with what in their on-line Royal listings (is the catalog any more clear)? Some items have the same description yet different prices:

Nice. I'll cut them a bit of slack though since, never actually having the units in stock, they probably don't know what will be in the box. ;) |

Can I use my JR receivers with the Royal Evo?
|

JR receivers should work. Multiplex uses positive frequency shift. If you want to use negative shift (for Futaba/Hitec), you have to get the service center to install a switch. To bad they don't include it into the software like the Polk's Tracker II does. It would have been so easy...

even the lowly HiTEc Eclipse has a shift selector. But none of the higher-end radios seem to... Odd.

Well, obviously not all radios are created equal.
The 9C doesn't. I think the Z does. So far as I know none of the JRs do. To me, it doesn't make much difference. I don't see having a fit because my Futaba transmitter won't work with a JR receiver. I can just as easily buy a Futaba or HiTec receiver... |

Futaba will likely NEVER provide a shift-select function, since they intoduced the problem in the first place. It was their attempt at forcing brand loyalty on their customers.

They can't dictate a standard to their customers as JR/Futuba can, so the offer the alternative of being more flexible. This opens both JR and Futaba's marketshare to them, effectively doubling their base of potential customers. |
