What's the new JR DMSS all about. Have several versions of the 9503 including the DSMX Version and the DSM2 version.

Are these new transmitters compatible with Spektrum? Don't see that it is.

Here is where you really have to pay attention- I suspect the casual buyer will make mistakes in purchasing compatible rxs etc..
I really never expected Horizon to offer these radios -even if they ar e very good
confusion still occurs amongst buyers trying to outfit early DSM2 radios
So read the fine print!
I really liked JR stuf but the absence of the Spektrum features -simply makes these versions orphans at my place
Frankly - I have yet to see ANY systems on the current market which will not work well -(good signal) so the deciding points are mostly TX features - I once shuffled stuf made by a variety of mfgrs - No more -

That is correct.

DSM2 and DSMX are compatable.

DMSS is not compatable with anything else.

I have not coverted over from 72 so I am free to make moves; however, I am like rmh on this deal i am not brand loyal anymore (i think) :D i do like jr radios and TG servos

Horizon tech is not aware of an option for electronic or mechanical trims - for throttle. Possibly we will not see that option, which i believe is available in some other markets. The first batch at least are all electronic trim.

I doubt you will see this again
The mechanical throttle trim was handy for setting idle on my big gasoline powered stuff
The steady shift to electric power and the problem with shifting stick modes -likely has determined that all future stuf will have electronic trim

I have used Analog Trims for many years. There have been numerous times when the Trims get unknowingly bumped. This is most often the case with new students. Even with the ability to Save the Trims and set the Levers back to Neutral, there were still many opportunities to bump the Trims.

Digital Trims stay where they were set and cannot be changed unless the Transmitter is on.

My only complaint with Digital Trims is that if you have a model that is grossly out of Trim, it is difficult to Trim the model quickly because the Trim moves so slowly. The only option is to set the Trim Steps to a High value when anticipating the need to do Gross Trimming. I do not know if all computer radios have a Trim Step function but at least most newer ones do.
