Futaba T6EXAP receiver question

I just bought my son a DuraPlane and Futaba T6EXAP radio w/ an R156F receiver for his birthday. I guess I didn't look that closely when I ordered it and didn't research the receivers well enough and, evidently, this is a micro receiver. I got Futaba S3003 servos, as well.

I should probably replace it with a R168DF, but I'm not certain why. Is this a bad receiver for this application and, if so, why?

The receiver you have is not a full range receiver. the 168 is a full range receiver.
