Futaba 4VF trainer switch?
 

Anyone ever change the trainer button on a 4VF to a toggle switch? Flying with an instructor last night and discussing the possibility.

Thoughts?

Never thought about it but suppose that is why Futaba is making a new 4ch.

I love Futaba radios -- but I hate that trainer button! I guess I'm not too fond of that heavy trainer cable with the big plugs either... Anyway -- I digress. I don't see any reason why you couldn't change the button to a spring loaded return toggle switch. I would contact Radio South if you are not comfortable doing the mod yourself.

New to the hobby and have been having a ball. :D

The instructor I have been flying with echoed your sentiments about Futaba. I got a 4VF shell from a club member for next to nothing to use as a buddy box. I figure I can crack it open to "see" the guts and feesibility.[:-]

I have posted to the Futaba support site as well. Hope to hear their take on this but I would bet they will say that is one of the new great mods in the new line.
