reciever for a futaba t8uaf?
 

What is a good reciever for this trans. I was wondering if it can use a fm rec.

The model number you listed is the FM version and should have come with the R148DF receiver. If you listed the wrong model number (t8uap for example, PCM model), it can be programmed to ppm and will work with the above receiver ok.

Any Futaba shift FM receiver from any manufacturer will work with this transmitter. There may be some fringe brands that don't work, but I know Hitec, Futaba, FMA, GWS, and Polk all work. This transmitter will also support Futaba 1024 PCM recievers as the modulation is part of each model's programming.

Yes -- the T8UAF, also known as an 8U, is a good transmitter. I have flown an 8U Super for years and will only part with it when I move up to a 9Z. The non-super is a little less capable, but not by much...

I got the non super heli (blah) version. Known as the 8UHP. It is a great radio. The super series has more but I don't miss it.

So if I am starting to learn with a 4ch plane,can I use a 4ch rec.?and the above mentioned brands of rec are compatable?

sorry for all the ?'s but just dont want to do this twice.

The number of channels between the transmitter and receiver do not have to match. In fact -- most 4 channel beginner radio systems come with 6 or 7 channel receivers.

I have an 8 channel transmitter and have but a few 8 channel receivers. Most of my receivers are 5 channle Hitecs (555) and 7 channel Futabas (127DF).
