JR378 buddy question.

Still haven't ever flown my plane and getting impatient. :D

I bought a shiny new JR 378 Tx (UK 35 mhz), but I need a buddy box to learn to fly as my m8, who is going to teach me has only Futaba gear.

For this purpose, I bought a used JR Max 6 (Net-W126V) Tx and when it arrived to my total disgust, it doesn't have a buddy box connection. It does have a little sticker covering a little hole in the back cover, but there is no socket in the hole. [:@]

So this time I better do my homework, and ask here, whats a suitable JR TX to buddy with my JR378.

Hi

http://www.inwoodmodels.co.uk

They are sellers of JR gear and do a xp662 with nicad about £85 . but look around for a xp652 cheap or if you like soldering

I have made one of these adaptors and they work very well.If you find an old futaba Tx with buddy out cheap ,you could rewire all the pots and trims to match the JR order of channels ,if you like a challenge that is ;-)

RE: JR378 buddy question.

Pajo ?

I think I have a cct diagram that shows a modification to the MAX6 so that buddy buddy system can be used.

Is the main chip on the board the NE5044 ?

And ( pardon for asking this ) are you technically competent to carry out a board mod ?

@Mac Man

Cheers m8,

Yes m8, the chip is a NE5044N.

"And ( pardon for asking this ) are you technically competent to carry out a board mod ? "

Well, I can use a soldering iron m8, and I will have a go, I have nothing to lose as the JR Max is of no use to me, except as a buddy box. :D

@ AlanM1 thanks for the link , looks a good site, with good prices, may even buy a 622 anyway, they are doing a deal.

Either way the buddy box mod, if possible would be nice as I could leave the JR Max permanently upstairs with my pc, as I have the FMS flight sim, and the USB to JR interface.
