Are the FPV Transmitter and receiver same thing?

Just as my title written, are the FPV Transmitter and receiver same thing? If not, what the real difference between them two.

No they are not.

The Transmitter "transmits" the video signal.

The receiver "receives" the transmitted signal.

OK. Their function is different. What else?

The transmitter is comparable to a TV station.

The receiver is comparable to a TV set.

That's how different they are.

The power of the transmitter isnt always "more power is better" ... signal distance has more to do with the receiver antennae sensitivity... so some of the receiver antennae that are more powerful have a smaller "cone of reception", which why those are often mounted to antennae trackers so they always point towards the aircraft. Watch youtube videos by ibcrazy for detailed explanations.

It seems to be not the answer to my question.
