FrSky x10s or x12s? Help me decide

I'm in the market for a new radio, I was previously using an Airtronics RDS8000 and was outgrowing it. As I pulled it out of storage this year and checking controls, two of the switch posts broke due to the plastic getting brittle.

I am convinced I'd like to go with an FrSky horus running OpenTX with an iRange iRX4+ module to give the greatest range of compatibility. I am extremely tech savvy so I'm not concerned about the learning curve.

What I can't decide is whether to go with the x10s or x12s. Does anyone have both radios? Does anyone wish they had bought one over the other? Does anyone with experience analyzing spec sheets see an advantage of one over the others?

I love the top mounted screen of the x12s, but it seems like this is the oldest of the horus models and I'm concerned that support may become non-existent sooner than with the x10s. Additionally due to the higher price tag of the x12s, I suspect there will be less users to discuss potential issues with.

I appreciate everyone's input..
