what is a transmitter module in futaba?

I just bought a Futaba 9cap transmitter. This transmitter happens to be on the 35mhz frequency. Can I change it into a 72 mhz frequency by swapping the tranmitter module or the tranmitter module is for some other reason?

The module is the way to change the frequency. It contains all the RF componets of the radio including the xtal. Installing a different module is the ONLY legal way to change the frequency on a transmitter with a module.

Fai,
You are dead on right! You purchase a module on your needed frequency band, change the module, and you are ready to fly on your band!

The 35mhz receiver you got is useless for 72Mhz. You will need to sell it and buy receivers on 72mhz.
