Futaba 3FR-AM

I bought a futaba 3fr-am. So whats the deal with AM? I'm assuming there are some issues with it, hence the ridiculously low price. If so can anyone tell me what they are?

I fly some stuff with AM radios because they have bee setup that way for a long time. The AM radio is subject to a bit more interference from stray stuff like CB radios and such. They are usually still a perfectly viable radio for most uses. My question is what is a ridiculously low price? Hitec has 3 channel AMs for less. Hitec FM 3 channels are still pretty cheap.

I picked it up for 40 bucks on sale, even with that it was retailing for $65 the best I'd seen on Hitec 3ch FM was $90 or so.
