Replacing 9C battery ?

Is there any tricks or things I should be aware of to replace/upgrade my battery pack in a Futaba 9C?

you can spend up tp $ 40 for a assembled pack or more or make your own for $ 18.

Radicalrc.com has high capacity NiMH packs with Futaba connectors that will fit into the 9C. There might be others too, but I have good experience with Dave so far

If you don't mind doing a little soldering, you can buy these 1800mAh NiMH AA for ~$1.25 each:

8C TX pack would cost exactly $10. I've check them with my Triton cycler and they do indeed put out a little over 1850mAh at the typical TX current draw.

I am sure there are other sources out there, but this one is where I've been buying mine lately.

If you are not into the sodering thing Radical sells a Sanyo pack for the Futaba 9C that is rated at 1650 MAh 9.6 NIMH that slips right in. They are located at http://radicalrc.secure-mall.com/sho...20&cart=199700

Oh buy the way it IS more expensive than the sodering route. The thing that makes it worth it either way you go is you will end up with about 3x the capacity of most factory packs.

Dave does sell good packs at Radical RC.
I would recommend him first.
I have a Hydramax pack from Tower.
1650maH will last abot 5.5 hours

Replacement packs for the 9C are readily available. They use the same connector as the recievers. I have a 2000 mah NIMH pack. Works great!

I'll chip in with my vote for RadicalRC also. Dave's always provided me with *excellent* service and I use his transmitter and receiver packs exclusively now without a single problem.
