Futaba Attack-4 with FP-R114H Receiver

Hi Im just getting back into the hobby after about 8 or 9 years now. I was looking for a cheap radio for my son to use on a trainer 40 plane and found a Futaba Attack-4 am kit (tx and rx). The receiver is a FP-R114H. I just bought it and I dont know if its a legal radio to use or not. I dont have it yet, its in the mail but I know the receiver number is correct. Its on channel 42 if that helps.

Can any one tell me me if this is a legal radio to use?

Thanks

Greg

RE: Futaba Attack-4 with FP-R114H Receiver

Greg,

To the best of my knowledge, all Attack 4 AM transmitters with the specified receiver are legal. They were the first AM radios Futaba made that were narrow band legal from the factory. My first radio was an Attack 4 which I bought in 1990. Just to be sure, if it is legal it will have a gold sticker on the back. Since that radio hasn't been manufactured for some time, you should at least check the batteries or better yet just change them as they will be several years old unless someone has changed them recently.

George
