These antennas are more popular with the helicopter guys. Here is a link to one at Rick's. No words of wisdom from me about using one on a plane. I used one on my Raptor 50 and had no problems with it. Typically they reduce your range. Eric |

RE: Where to find base loaded/whip antenna
Last few weeks just strarted using the Smiley (link above) through the adapters that stay on the radio and the antenna appear to be very high quality. The adapter fit my Hitec Prism's and Eclipse perfectly. The Antenna it self removes in two seconds with an RCA jack for transport and shifting around with the other radios with adapters already installed. So far cannot detect any change in range and can say flying around without that antenna in you face has been eye opening. Should have done this a long time ago, He, He besides I like the colors[8D]

Thanks for the links..... May have to give it a shot.....
Range? so my range drops from 1 mile to 3/4 mile....I still wouldn't be able to see the plane that far away...so I'm OK with that.... I'll give it some thought As for the smiley antenna.... is that an Rx or Tx antenna?? |
