JR 9X/9XII/MX22/9303 Modifications

[sm=punching.gif]

Hi,

Well it seems I have hit a "nerve" here. The truth be known, the 9303/9x..... are not certified, just the RF section "the module". Either way, it seems like this is a "taboo" subject here. Could be pressure from Horizon, could be something else. Anyway, anyone who is interested in the subject of making your own "modifications" to your JR 9 series transmitter, please drop me a "Private Message". I will make a mailing list and we can discuss this "taboo" subject away from sensitive ears.

Again, if you take the FCC notice as it is written, you would not be able to change the battery, replace the antenna or change the module since these can be considered a "modification" of the transmitter. Lets get real here. YOU paid for it, and if you want to void the warranty by enableing the Zpcm, Stick mode, or any other thing on your radio, that is your right.

RE: JR 9X/9XII/MX22/9303 Modifications

The module is the only thing that needs to be certified by the FCC as that is the only section of the radio that is actually transmitting. If the circuitry were incorporated within the radio, then the whole thing has to be certified, but the actual transmitter section in these radios comes as a removeable module, so that is the only part that needs FCC certification.

As to modifying anything else within the radio, if you want to do that and void your warranty, no one is going to stop you. So long as it does not affect the module itself, mod away.

Thank you for confirming that. Horizon will argue that point and try to discredit this information.

Any comments on this subject are welcomed, unless <edit> ed by the forum administrator.

Hi,

Just a reminder :: the previous threat of mlancast has been <edited> or rather erased, see here :
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/JR_P...2561904/tm.htm

Why then was the following threat not <edit>ed? , read "erased" :
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_23...tm.htm#2394665
or this one :
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_26.../tm.htm#262394
and probably many others...

And why is my signature which refers to my website not erased? But that's perhaps because I am not fiddling in JR-transmitters, contrary to other brands... : nearly all JR's transmitters are fitted with a buddy connector, that's a fact.

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the support. Maybe soon they will believe me that some information is being supressed on purpose.
