FUTABA 9C Synthesized Module Help

Hello, I have a Futaba 9C radio and i want to get the synthesized
72mhz module for it. However, the only place I can find that sells
them is Tower Hobbies. They have been backordered on these since
at least last Sep. Every month, arrival status shifts to "Early Jan" ,
then "Late Jan" , etc. etc. Where in the hell can i find one of these
modules? Can i get one directly from great planes. PLease, any
info would be appreciated. I like my futaba 9c, but i want to
be able to change freq. without changing crystals. I have 6 airplanes,
and this is why. I had a Hitec Eclipse 7 with spectra synthesizer, but
got rid of it. I was not happy with it at all.

Here is the link to the synthesizer I want and need :

The synthesizer module for the 9C has not been released by Futaba yet. Tower has them listed on their web site but have none to ship yet. Word is, soon, but that has been the "word" for quite a while now.

Hey,

Join the club! The 9C Synthesizer Module does exist, but they are in VERY short supply at this time. Call around, and you'll find one if you're lucky! I've had one on order from Tower since October, so I share your frustration! Try places like Bruckner and Servo City!

I know that you are talking about true Futaba modules. But I thought I would mention that I tried a Spectra module in my 9cap. It works, but does not work with all receivers. It worked on my plane with a Hitec receiver in it. But would not work with a plane that had a Berg receiver in it. I found out that the radio was putting out a none standard signal that some receivers will not accept. Hopefully there will be no such problem with the Futaba modules?

Just so that you are aware - using the Spectra module in a Futaba TX is not allowed under FCC rules or under the rules of the AMA. I would not risk it anyhow. The problem with some RX's not working is not limited to the Spectra. Even with my 9ZAPWC2 Futaba TX, using a synth module, not all Futaba receivers work.

Safety is no accident!

It doesn't sound like anyone has them yet, see Bax's post of 2/8

Well,

I don't think that is entirely accurate......... I spoke to ServoCity on Friday and they already received 3 of the Synthesized TX modules for the 9C, and a local hobby shop (Brands Hobby, Providence, RI has the 9C Super with the Synthesized TX module). They are out there, they are just in short supply!

I heard of this module over two years ago. Futaba doesn't do anything very fast. I haven't decided if it is because they are being careful with product quality or they are just plain slow:) I talked with Peter Berg of Berg rxs a while back. He said his rxs would not work satisfactorily with the Spectra or the Futaba modules. Tower is currently showing them due early March. Yeh right! I really want one but I also have half a dozen Bergs[:o]

I have a Berge and it works fine with my Hitec Spectra. I have noticed however that lower freqencies such as 11, 12, 13 exibit some servo noise on some receivers. My Berge is the DSP5 in an LMH electric heli on channel 38 and operates great!
