stupid mistake!! what to do????
 

it appears i put too much locktite on my servo head bolt and it wont come out.
being a staburn ***** that i am - i tried to force it and killed the screwdrivers slot in the bolts head, so now it turnd freely (the screwdriver).

is there a way to open it?? please...

Use a Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel, to cut a screwdriver slot in the screwhead. Get a good solder iron and heat the screw, that should release the loctite, then the back the screw out. If you cannot get it out with the screwdriver, then use the Dremel to cut the servo arm away and grip the screw with a pair of pliers. Next time, put a drop of silicone, or goop on th top of the screw to keep it from backing out.

Are you using metal geared servos?

If not get a new gear set and discard the top gear. Locktite is made for metal to metal contact and will attack plastic (to include nylong and Karbonite) and make it brittle causing the spline to shear off.

Nylon geared servos don't need anything to hold the screw in place, if its a loose fit, replace the gear.

Right on, didn't mean to assume. I've just heard an awful lot of people talking about locktiting servo screws into nylon geared servo's lately.

On a similar question, how to secure countersunk screws into plastic? - for example chassis screws into plastic engine mounts, body mounts etc. When a countersunk screw is removed several times the plastic loses grip and could work loose.

As for thread lock with metal gear servo, would you say a very small amount near the screw head be safe? Since it's unlikely to seep down, compared to thread lock near the tip of the screw.
