6 ch Computer Radio w/4 micro servos

Ive been looking around for a 6 channel computer radio with 4 micro sservos and a micro reciever, but cant find one for under $200. I wanted the JR Sport from Horizon but it has 4 standard servos, I need micro servos.

Anyone know of a good one? For under $200.

The Futaba 6EXAS with a micro receiver and 3 3108 servos is $160 (rounded off) at Tower (stock number TG4380). Another 3108 is $15. This gives you a total of $175. Subtract Tower's current $20 off a $149 order and you're at $155. The same transmitter with 3101 servos ends up at around $185.

That is nice but I like JR or Airtronics. Every JR I see comes only with standard servos. ARGH!!

It doesnt have to be 6 channel, but I need duel rates, expo, all kinds of mixing, flaperons, etc. Also, a few model memory would be nice. But I need micro servos!!

For a slight additional fee($5 I believe) Horizon will assemble a radio with any combination of equipment; you are not limited to pre-packaged radios; I would call Horizon/JR and get a quote....Jim

Horizon calls their service "JR FlexEquip"
There is a link to it near the bottom right of
http://www.horizonhobby.com/
They will mix and match parts to get you what you need.

It sure would have been nice for you to say this up front so I didn't waste my time answering your question.

Sounds like the radio I told you about. Too bad you've limited yourself to brands that don't seem to satisfy your needs.

This one has little servos but it is not under $200.

Did not know about Horizon doing custom packaging. Good info!

That JR FlexEquip sounds good but they only give you the option of 6 different radios, all of which are too expensive. They do not give me that option for the 6 channel JR Sport Radio, it is everything I want except it has 4 standard servos, I need 4 sub-micro.

What is this JR Sport you reference. I am looking at the JR website and I don't see a radio called the Sport. I do find this one on the Horizon site:
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...dID=JSP16000**

Is this a discontinued model? It does not appear on the JR site anywhere with the current radios and when I search for the SX600, I get nothing.

I would be concerned to buy a radio the MFG does not list as a current product.

Are you talking about the XF631?

That JR Sport you linked was the one I was looking at. I thought that JR Sport was a new thing JR had, but I guess not. I will have to keep looking.

That XF631 looks good, but I dunno on the price.

All I can find on Horizon are the manuals for the XF631 and the XF421. Where can I buy these from?

I found this one, but it says it is discontinued too:

Sorry, I don't really follow JR. I am a Hitec/Futaba guy. I am sure they have nice stuff but I have been using these.

I hear the JR 6102 is a great radio.

Review

This is a futaba 7C review, but the author compares it to the JR near the end
of the article. May be helpful if you are trying to compare the two.
http://www.rcgroups.com/links/index.php?id=4405
6 channels, 10 model Memory, model naming, selectable switch locations,
Direct Servo Connect (DSC), 4 user programmable mixes, a variety of standard
mixes,

More than you wanted to spend, but it might be worth the extra.
This one for $240 has micro components:

If you love JR, I would say this is the way to go, or find someone selling one of the discontinued models, but none of them have micro components, as you have discovered.

Good luck with it!

RE: 6 ch Computer Radio w/4 micro servos

The XF631 is discontinued. There might be old stock in a local hobby shop somewhere but it would be an extremely lucky find if it had the right servos.

"JR Sport" is a new 'brand' that appears to be what some would consider "entry level" computer radios. The model 600 appears to have features similar to Futaba's 6EXA.

The JR Sport 6 channel system is about $160. If its features seem to fit your needs you should call Horizon on the phone (1-800-338-4639) and ask them if they will sell it with the receiver and servos you want. The worst that can happen is you waste alittle time and they say no. Or you get great service, get the radio you want, and Horizon picks up a loyal customer.

Thanks for clarifying that. There is nothing about it on the JR web site that I can find so I concluded that it was another discontinued model.

Odd.

RE: 6 ch Computer Radio w/4 micro servos

Thanks aeajr...but all those are a little too expensive for me, but I am still very undecided on what to do, so they are all posibilities.

I have contacted Horizon, and they said that the 6ch JR Sport does not come with micro or sub-micro servos, but he said he would look into it and get back to me to see if it would be possible to get me the servos and reciever I need with the radio.

Thanks. I will post in here when they get back to me what the answer was.

RE: 6 ch Computer Radio w/4 micro servos

Horizon said that the JR Radio I wanted does not come with micro servos, and it is not possible to repackage one with micro servos, but he said that there is a good possibility, since the JR Sport line is new, that new bundles will come out with micro servos in the future. He said to keep watching for it.
