Battery and receiver mounting in Airplanes
 

My question is does it matter how close the battery is to the receiver when they are install in an airplane? Should a divider of some kind be used if they are mounted side by side? If so what kind of divider?

[8D]I have flown my aircraft with glow engine power for many
years and have never had an issue with the rx battery being
too close to the rx. I do wrap foam rubber around the battery
pack and the receiver for protection purposes.

It doesn't matter if you are concerned about radio interference. I try to put my battery ahead of the receiver so the battery doesn't come smashing its way through the receiver in the event of a crash or really sudden stop.

1. Petrol engine?
2. Glow fuel engine?
3. EP?
For 1 and 3 keep battery and especially EP connectors as far away as possible.
Standard with petril engines and older ignition systems was to also wrap TX battery in aluminium foil. EP battery connectors are a prime sourve of interference.
For 2. Problems seldom reported of both separately wrapped in foam anti vibration rubber - keeps them far enough apart.
