Hitec HS-475HB
 

It seems to me that the hitec HS-475HB is about the best standard servo going. Its cheap, high torque, ball bearing, lighter then almost all standard servos, seems to center well, the only downside is the .23 sec transit speed. Some people say that the karbonite gear train can't handle gas engines or strips in large plane applications, but I fly all glow models under 12lbs. Just curious what everyone's opinion is on these servos.

I have a couple of the 5475 digital servos in a something extra and they seem to work just fine.

I've used them for a couple years...great....no slop in the gears either..,..used them for 3d...they are fast enough on 6v

I am using them on a 3d bipe fun fly and for the bang for the buck this servo is right up my alley. If memory servers me correct they are around 14-17 if I recall, and that is good for some birds....

I use one on the rudder of my CG Extra 300 (BIY kit) good when you need more torque than the HS-325. I use nothing but 5 cell packs for the last couple of years.
I'm getting ready to repair the "broke back" fuselage of my H9 Twist 60, I plan on replacing the old Airtronics standards w/ EMS BB case tops, with HS-475HB's, I've had no problems with the Karbonite gears, after a full season in the Extra, the Karbonite geared servos are like new, can't say the same for the nylon geared servos in my 4 Star 60 after the same flying hours.
