quartz and frequency change

Hi all,

I would ask if is possible to insert a 40.835 Mhz crystal in a radio of the 27 Mhz range: will the radio work in the new frequency range without damaging anything?
Regards,

Giuseppe

You won't damage anything, but it wont work either.

When you change bands you will need retuning at the very least. More likely even some parts changes. It would be OK probably if using modules instead of crystals.

RE: quartz and frequency change

many thanks guys,

then i'll have to change the 27 Mhz receiver of my P-51 D in order to use an old 40 Mhz TX. And given that the factory-fit RX of the Mustang is a one-piece package with the speed controller, i've to buy an ESC too. Then two further questions arise:

1) Which ESC is needed for a 480 motors which i assume to be of the brushed type?

2) May i use a shulze 440 receiver for the job, or special requirements are to be satisfied for the compatibility between RX and motor-ESC?

Further thanks in advance,

Giuseppe
