Hitec 545 vs 605
Which of this 2 is better?
From what I read, the 605 do not center well but is more powerfull than the 545. I need to high torque servos and hitec have a good price. Thanks for your help!! :D |
Hitec 545 vs 605
I would definetly go with the 605BB's, I have alot of these and they have no centering problems, with 77 oz. torque with 4.8volt pack theyre great. Daz...

545/605
The 605 is dual BB, 545 is top only BB; 605 is 77 oz.in. vs 545 62; 605 is .16 sec transit speed, 545 is .22. The only thing the 545 has going for it is it's 0.1 oz less weight, very slightly smaller length & height.

For a couple of dollars more, you better the batch with the Hitec 615mg. I'm using quite a few of them, and it's a darn good servo for the price.

Hitec 545 vs 605
Last year I tried both the 545's and the 615's in my heli. I personally had much better results with the 545's. The 615's would not return to center so it seemed like the heli needed trimmed all of the time. Now, for planes, I would definately use the 615's since exact centering is not as important and the control surfaces take a little more abuse as far as extreme stick movement is concerned.

wich 615 you were using the MG or plastic gear? |

MG's....

Hitec 545 vs 605
I was thinking of using the plastic one because I read somewhere
that the MG are not that precise as the plastic gears. |
Hitec 545 vs 605
That may be true....I dont have any experiences with the plastic gear version. I loved the 615s in my Goldberg Extra 300 with a Saito 150, but in my heli, the machine just wouldnt stay trimmed to one spot. With the 545's, I could actually take my hands off all of the controls while in a hover and just watch it for 5 seconds or so until it started to move. They took all of the aerobatics that I could dish out.

605 hitec
I love the Hitec servos. I use a lot of the 425's in my smaller planes. I put the 605's on my 30% Carden Extra but after 6 flights I could'nt keep the ailerons trimmed. I replaced them all with Futaba 9202's. What a difference. If your looking for precision the 605's don't have any. The 545 is much better at centering consistently.
I didn't notice this on other slower planes but when put to the test on a larger aerobatic plane the 605 didn't perform. Good luck Chris |

These servos use a three-pole motor geared *way* down. This gives great torque, but lousy resolution.
Lots of heli guys have tried these with predictable results - a machine that won't "lock-in" to a hover. Yuo can search the heli forums for more info. That being said, I have a set of 615MGs running the tail of my Ultra Stick. They are slow to find absolute center, but are OK in this application as the plane is rarely going in a straight line. :D |

Did not understand your answer, yours 605 or all 605 because they come with mg also. I am asking because most of the people that have centering problem are with the mg. |
Hitec 545 vs 605
The 605's Im using do not have metal gear. And they do not center well. I've never used the 605 MG or the 615.
