Whats better The JR XF631 Radio system or Futaba T6XH radio.
I am buying the JR XF631 and already have the Futaba and want to know which system to use in the better more expensive airplane. One plane is a WM super sports 40S and the other is
the H9 P51.

Either will work, but the Futaba is a more capable radio.

That said, the Airtronics RD6000 has them both beat.

I haven't got the JR yet but I take it that it doesn't have the programmable mixers like the Futaba does which I will need for the P51. Thanks for the help.

I would save about another $100 and buy the JR378 or the JR8103. That way you can have expo on all rudder, elevator, ailerons, with duel rates on those three channels.tons of mixing options. And with the 783 or 8103 you wouldn't need a new Tx for a long, long, time.

The JR378 radio is $415 and the JR8103 you mentioned costs $499 There both excellent radios but the Futaba 6XH is not that bad compared to them and alot cheaper at $239. The Airtronics RD6000 and 8000 get good reviews but how good are Airtronics lately I had an older one and the smoothness of the servo movment wasn't great, and one servo was intermittient. Have they improved since.

check at other places on the JR prices. there are other places out there cheaper than that. I am not able to look it up right now. But I have seen them cheaper.

The 8103 has been on promotion for some time for $379 with digital servos. It's a very tempting package.

Airtronics quality is as least as good as the other guys. With the RD series I think they put far more thought and consideration into the radio's software than their competitors have.

According to the newest Horizon book that I got.

JR 631Tx w/ 4 JR 537 servos, R700RX and 600Mh Nicad Battery $199.95

a JR 378 Tx w/ 4 JR 537 servos, R700 Rx and (probably a 700mh Nicad batery) $339.99

Promo Radio
JR 8103 Tx w/ 4 JR811 Digital servos, R700 Rx and battery $379.99

Regular 8103 Package
8103 TX w/ 4 JR 517 servos, R549 9-channell PCM Rx, and battery. $469.95

If you could afford it, and plan to stay in hobby for a while. I would buy at least the 7 channel radio. Since it has digital trims, and all that good stuff. You probably won't need another radio for years to come. If it takes saving another $120.00 I would wait until I had the money.

I am have the older version of the 378, I have the 783. I absolutely love it. I wish I had digital trims, but other than that is a perfect radio.

I see it all the time at my field, people will buy a good, cheap radio, and fly with it for 6months or so and then want something else. Then they turn around and buy a good 7 or 8 channel. Then they have a basic radio that can't do nothing with.

If the hobby shop is charging you $415.00 for a JR 378 they are just flat ripping you off. Order that dude online, and save some serious coin. I try to buy from my LHS, but if he is way off base on something, and won't come anywhere close to what anybody else is selling it for. I order it online.

The guy selling the JR631 for $155 never got back to me so I might just use my Futaba T6XH radio for The Heli, and both planes and just get the Hitec flight pack with BB servos and Nicads for $100. That way I can go for the hot and expensive 8 channel radio later. Batteries shouldn't run down in the transmitter when flying three aircraft with it on any given day. The flight pack batteries drain down the fastest. Is the popular Hitec $100 flight pack with BB servos just as good as the Futaba or JR ones that cost $40 more.
