i have the 9c and i love it!! ive heard good and bad things about the jr stuff tho.. things other than the radio.. but it all depends on what you prefer.. the 9c is plenty for airplane use but im just partial to futaba.

Not sure you can compare a jr10x and a 9c. The 10x would likely be compared to a futaba 9zap and the 9c to a 8103.

Bang for the buck goes to the 9C by far.

If money is no object then the 10X, 9Z, Profi 4000, etc are top of the line.

JR all the way. Everything else is a waste of money and will cause all of your models and your best friends models to crash :D

That should get some dander flying!

What kind of airplane is a dander??? :D :D

I doubt this is a serious inquiry, troll troll

You should not be comparing a 300 dollar radio to a 1000 dollar radio

A dander is a new model which has some flaky flight characteristics and may cause breathing problems to those who are sensitive to such things.

Does that mean it takes a $1000 JR to equal a $300 Futaba radio? :D

Just kidding. I prefer futaba too. Been flying them almost as long as they have been making radios. I have used others but never found one better than futaba. Equal maybe but...

The Futaba 9C is not in the same class as the 10X. The 10X and 9ZWCII are in the same class. The 9C is more equivalent to the JR 8103. So, the JR10x is definitely better than the 9C, but then so is the Futaba 9Z :D

I want a radio that will last me a long time and that dosn't cost to much. I am flying expert at the moment in f3a and i was hopingm the 9cap would take me all the way to the top.

What radio do you fly with know? Are you looking to set up flight conditions and some complex mixing?

If the answer is no than the 9c will be fine. Dont get me wrong you can still mix just about everything with the 9c but your limited to 2- three position switches. With the 9z you have 4- three position switches(not sure about the 10x) If your looking to set up flight conditions you will need the higher end radio

10x has 3 position.

Anyhow, if you dont want to drop a bundle go for the 9c, its a pretty good radio for the price!

The 9c has three position as well.

Chris, what they are saying is that the 9C doesn't have the function called conditions. If you don't need them, it will be a great radio. If you do need them, then you have to spend the money and get the Z or the X. If you don't know, I would get the C and later if you need them, sell it and get the radio that will handle conditions. I can't say if you will need them or not. I personally don't use them and fly the 9CHP, but I don't compete any more either. I just fly for fun. Its a good radio if thats all you need. If you need more, you will have to spend the bucks.

Make sure you get the revised 9C processor version free of the "v-tail bug"

OK, Whats the "v-tail bug" and how can you tell it's the revised version? I'm also thinking about getting a 9c.

The new version radios have taller Vr knobs without any white marks on them

Look in the Futaba forum about the V-tail bug; basically if you are programming a v-tail glider then there is a bug that needed to be addressed. The new radios don't have a white index mark on the three knobs. I got mine last December and it was the new version; I doubt there are any older versions out there. If you have an older version just send it to Futaba to be updated.

flyboy,
if you don't mined me asking what exactly are flight conditions?
the only complex mixing i will need is for Knife edge.
