hobbico cs-71 super torqe metal gear ball bearing servos
just wondering if anyone is using them & what your thoughts are. they are 110 in-oz 2 ball bearing metal gear servos, they are $39.95 each @ tower, i installed 8 of them on my new g.p. 1/3 scale pitts, might be some overkill but better than not enough, any input on this item would be appreciated

Servo torque
One can NEVER have too much torque on a control surface, IMHO. I have used the CS65 coreless hi torq, and seems to do well.
Please email me re flight performance of your Pitts-haven't flown mine yet :-( |

Hi,these are most likey Hitec's 615 servos.Hobbico and Tower uses Hitec and Futaba servos. If you open them up you will see Hitec on the pc board. The Tower TS-51 servo is Hitec 300,it say's hitec on the board.I checked.Take care-Mac

macgyver- Hitec?
Don't think so, although I guess I'll have to check. The centering and resolution through travel of the CS 65 is far, FAR, better than the Hitec 615. It is also coreless, which the 615 is not....but you bring a good point - they've got to made by SOMEBoDY!!

CS67=Hitec 425, CS71=Hitec 615MG, CS72=Hitec 700BB, CS59=Hitec HS77BB, CS35= Hitec 225BB. Pull up Hitec's site and see if you can find one number different in the dimensions, weights, performances of these servos. Also, the heavy duty Dubro servo arms for Hitec also say Hobbico compatible as well. Nothing at all wrong with the servos, I like Hitecs (and therfore Hobbico servos as well). Also the Tower System 2000 servos are Hitec made, the system 3000 are Futaba made. |
Servos
I fly the TS-71 along with the Hitec 615-MG in my 1/3 330L. They are a Great servo for the price. I have mine set up on a 6 volt system and that increases the torque to 133 oz-in. I dont think you will be disappointed with these Servos!!!
