Also try Tom's RC on the net. He has good prices and low shipping on Hitec stuff. You have to sign in to get best price.

I think TBM has the lowest prices. Just "Add to Cart" to see the prices.

RE: Hitec 7955 best price ?
98 from Toms RC
89 from TBM and Cheif |
RE: Hitec 7955 best price ?
how good is 7955 compared to 5955?

RE: Hitec 7955 best price ?
Barracuda, you're right. I thought they were $84.99 from TBM. My bad.<div>
</div><div>Oh, and from what I understand they're almost the same...but the 7955 has more programming functions and has been updated for HV applications.</div> |
RE: Hitec 7955 best price ?
7955 has two main things that the 5955 does not: overload feature and high resolution mode (2048). You need the latest programmers to adjust either of those two features. The 1st programmer, HP-10, or whatever it's called won't adjust them. The HP-20 and USB versions will.

I'm about 90 percent sure they start in hi res mode. I have both and the 5955 is a wicked servo and wouldn't hesitate to use them unless you want to run straight 2S

RE: Hitec 7955 best price ?
There were some issues with the 5955's; specifically a significant torque drop off (into the neighborhood of 240 in/lbs.) when they warmed up and something of a nasty tendency to burn a hole in the bottom of the case opposite the output shaft when they failed.... [X(]
The 7955's not only have the higher resolution and overload protection but IIRC Mike Mayberry said over on that forum which shall not be mentioned, that the guts (motor, board, etc.) of the 7955's are all different and some independent testing by different folks show there is only a minor torque drop off as they get warm. |
RE: Hitec 7955 best price ?
I'm pretty sure the 7955's ship in lower res mode (1024). The 2048 res mode limits the travel to 180 degrees which is not a problem in most of our 120 degree applications.
I've had a 3D 50cc gasser loaded with 5955's for going on three years and they have performed perfectly. I push them pretty hard too...my plane never stops doing aerobatics from the point the wheels leave the ground until I land. :) |
