We would like to invite anybody in Northern Nevada To visit us on the weekends. To come check us out call (775) 867-3357 Or email to [email protected] web www.1stplacerace.com. We would like to start a not for profit rc club in the area. I have a laptop and laptrack scoring system so racing is definitly what we are eventually looking for. Here are some pics of this seasons 3/4 acre 900 foot long layout.

looking the wrong way...3 sets of doubles on one straightaway... and check out the huge banked corner in the background.... I built this whole track with a shovel, landscaping rake and a turf roller....and enjoyed every second!!

Thanks, It gets real loose due to its hard packed but sandy surface. I water it when lots of people come over and it is better, but water brings weeds so I have to be carefull, Spent $90 on weed killer last year, Stan

I heard somewhere that mixing in gypsum (not sure I heard that right) will give it a better surface...ever look into additives?

The problem is I live in the desert and the wind blows really hard sometimes .The sand gets blown onto the track. I wish I had enough people interested in racing to worry about traction. I have not even had enough people here to try out my new lap timer program. Plus Id be giving away my home track advantage!! Actually when wet it has mega traction. And you are correct, I have heard the same about gypsum. Stan

Free!!, Hell I cant pay people to come out at this point. The pics dont really show the scale of the jumps. Its a shame nobody really comes to enjoy it. Its all about high speed and big air...., what more could a guy want??? Thanks dan, your a good guy. Stan www.1stplacerace.com

You know, I have always had a track for anybody who wanted to race since I was 14. I have probably scratched out 10 of them the last16 years, since I got my tamiya falcon back in the day. I grew up on a big cattle ranch here in Fallon and had both Motocross and RC tracks all over the place. This is by far the best RC track I have ever built, but so far "if you build it they will come" is not true. If you ever come to reno I would be more than happy to have you over. Reno is cool for vacations. Hot august nights is a huge week long classic hot rod festival, and if you ski you are 30-80 miniutes from 20 % of americas world class ski resorts. Lodging and great food are dirt cheap also.
