Default NEW YORK CITY BASH

Hey guys it seems many of us in NY are left out in the cold when it comes to places to run and people to run with. If you do find a track, it is usually just for road cars or 1/10 scale. Those of you with ANY scale who just want to have fun with other NYers or TRI state then sign up here and state if you are interested. Leave your email address and I will try to get something going here. I am not taking charge of anything, but I just want to get some people together for a run. Also, post where you live so we can try to get a good location that is not too far for anyone to come.

I myself will be bringing my trucks that run nitro so we will be looking for nitro friendly places as I know some Savage owners who want to run. Drop a post

Danny

If theres anyone is in or around brookyn NYC, know that theres really no place for us to race our trucks OFFROAD....unill now!!!
Gateway Mall, behind BJs off the Belt Parkway theres a HUGE empty feild filled with mostly sand thats PREFECT for Monter Trucks or Truggys. Its composed of beach sand thats not flat and BORING...there also a few sand piles that can be used for jumps. The best part is that in the cut, theres a LARGE oval track track with whoops, a banked turn, and a straightaway....PERFECT!!!! Another good thing is that No one bothers u back there...ive seen few ATVs and Offroad Bikes back there but i dont think they use the track too much cause its too small..i assume that someone created the track for r/c. The track is made up of old rubber tires, so if u hit them u wont damage too much.

If anyone is interested PM me....ill be there over this holiday weekend for sure!!! I have the Mini MGT (Big Block) and my friend has a MGT (Ofna .32)
We have fun all day while we're there (and i havin even explored the rest of the field)...with a few more peps we could have a blast racing!!!!! Even if your not in brooklyn i think its worth checkin this spot out. t right off the Erskin Street exit on the Belt (between the Cross Island and Pennsylania exits)
I think this is the place we all been looking for in NYC...

The sand is soft like beach sand, but its packed a lil firm. I thought my Mini was going to have a problem drivin in it but it didnt. I think 4WD is a must. Ive seen ATVs and dirt bikes back there bashing

CranKitUp,

I stopped by on Sunday and did not find this spot.

I drove around the whole complex from Home Depot to BJ's .  Saw lots of dirt areas behind fences and the one open area just after BJ with a small sidewalk cut but not parking sign was posted.  And I saw a stripped car in the dirt.  Was that the spot?

Hey, I'm a Staten Islander.  I just picked up an Ofna Ultra LX Comp with a .28 axial and need a place to open up this beast. There aren't too may parks that have a good bashing areas.  I know there is a track at Gatewy National Recreation area that is on the air feild.  I remember it being a pretty nice spot with a few jumps and stuff, I've never seen anyone use it though.  I used to run my HPI RS4 3 at the parking lots there which are fairly nice and big.  Other than  that though the island is pretty bare.  The track behind Brownies is a 1/18 only if I remember correctly, I dont think its big enough for 1/10's even.

The open area was the stripped car was is near the spot....If u park your car between the sidewalks theres a BIG open field on the right.....if u have a 4x4 truck (real) u can drive back there....the place is HUGE... ATV's have a few bash spots back there that are perfec for R/C trucks.

Heres a bash video further back there...

Thanks Noc....heres a view of track.

http://www.bing.com/maps/default.asp...5716&encType=1

You can see the tires that make up the track. What the map doesnt show is the hills (great for bashing) and he way the corner is banked on track. With a lil more work done back there it could really be a nice spot.
