Default hpi rs4 not shifting

I finished the break in and tuning on my rs4 3 evo+, now i'm trying to change the shift point. i fallowed the directions to adjust it by turning a screw and nothing changed, i went with a 90* turns at a time like stated and got the screw all the way out as far as it can go and the car will still not shift.

if its all tuned in, i can't see a reason for it not to shift unless it was put together with loctite.

no loctite, it moves easily up and down, double checked to make sure its the right one and it is.

are you sure it isn't launching in second gear?

I was just thinking the same thing. If it takes off pretty quickly and has slow speed, then its stuck in first. If it has poor acceleration and seems to stay at a consistant RPM before climbing, then its basically stuck in 2nd/hitting 2nd gear too early.

the first thing i did was tighten it all the way down and backed off 90* at a time as stated by the manual and there was no change by the time i tuned it up all the way.

found the issue, it has 2 grub screws in there, there is only supposed to be 1, i removed the extra one and it works now.

with a hobby like this, i've seen it a lot of things wrong straight from the factory( needle settings, loose screws, unglued tires, etc...) and pretty much tear everything down when it enters my home even if it's new just to be sure.
quality control will never live up to my expectations so i just do it myself.

i just went and learned how to take it apart and service different parts, i do it with all my vehicles. i changed out the shock oil, checked the gear mesh, the clutch, brakes, oiled the barrings. the one thing i need to do is to find a different way to run the gas line, the metal gears are rubbing against it and are a little more than half way through the line. i plan on using some shrink wrap in that area of the gas line.

use a zip tie and zip tie it to the handle in the center of the car

scratch that, i think there is a different tank that has the fuel outlet that comes out to the side instead of straight out the back.
or maybe get some ofna fuel line clips .
they are plastic and used to run two fuel tubes together, kinda like spark plug wire clips that are used to straighten the wires on your car

hpi pretty much screwed the pooch on that design, especially running right by the gears.

Get the primerless racing fuel tank HPI #72525. The fuel line comes out the top of the tank instead of the bottom and it holds more fuel.
