from what i can see, it has flattened the teeth down enough that you will need a new one. Everyone sets mesh differently. Some use a piece of paper... i simply set mine by feel.
If you are unsure how to do it...you could always head over to A&E Hobby Warehouse right there in miami and have them help you.

I just set mine by feel also and have never stripped one. I mesh the gears so they are tight together and lined up straight for 1st and 2nd, then back off just a little bit and tighten the motor down. Then I hold the pinion gears and rock the spur gears at various places all around the gears. You should feel just a little "play" between the gears - just enough to be able to "click" as you rock them. You may need to adjust the mesh a couple of times until you get it just right. Then roll it on the ground backwards and forwards. If they are too tight you will hear a grinding sound. It should be smooth. Too tight and you will break teeth, too lose and you will strip them.
It really is easier than it sounds. Once you get the "feel" for it you can mesh them correctly every time and very fast.

also make sure you use locktight on all the motor screws. I got my ntc3 last year used and this year when i brought it out i noticed that 2 screws that hold the motor to the motor mounts were gone and the motor screws them self had lossened and caused so slipping of the gears.
