Default stripped pinion need replacement ! plastic/steel

[X(] was racing my NTC3 and i started to experience very strange car movements. after taking it apart i found that my pinion was stripped and will need to replace this. however how can i even consider upgraded my engine with such a weak link. i would think that a steel or alloy pinion would work even better and the chances of failing would be minimal. what do you guys think ? does anyone know where i can get a steel version or maybe just something stronger then just plastic. . and if this is not passable please let me now why.

thanks in advance !

Stick to plastic and try and figure out why its stripping. if the mesh is good and there is no motor movement or chassis flex, it shouldnt strip. I've had cars for years with the same plastic spur. Check motor mesh, motor movement, spur movement or if it has any wobble.

i know you can use the metal gears from the OFNA LD3 with the ld3 diff on the ntc3... i just dont know exactly what parts to get but that should help you with your searches. Im looking for a metal gear solution also and thats what the guys that run .21 and up on the ntc3 do.
