Carbonfiber won't stand up to the vibration and everyday wear and tear a chassis gets. If you really want to upgrade the chassis get a tatanium racing chassis. I can sell you one for $50. I bought it for 140 new and now I don't use my car anymore so I am selling the parts. The stock aluminum chassis will bend under the engines torque but this tatanium racing chassis won't. The address below is a link to Towerhobbies to show you what I'm talking about.

Yes it is in good condition. It only has a couple scratches because I only raced it at the track. You can email me at [email protected] for pics if your interested.

yep i love the car i have a question about the 2 speed...........has anyone stipped the 2 speed housing? i have and had to drill and tap the hole to get the gear to screw on.....also my 2 speed still isnt shifting the 2 speed clutch is able to rock back and forth on the shaft, but when i try to tighten one side it doesnt push the ball down, could i have stipped the threads in the clutch? how should i fix it?

you can try to put a bit of hot glue in the hole and then thread the screw back in quickly before it cools the glue will stick to the plastic and make new threads and it sounds if you are adjusting it wrong if are taking the screws in to get it to shift if im not mistaken they go out to make it shift sooner and you have to turn both the same amount otherwise you will never get it to shift

Since this is an "official" (wink-wink nudge-nudge) thread, we should start dropping some links to NTC3 info.
[ul][*][link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3070009/tm.htm]RC Universe[/link] thread regarding slick track setups[*][link=http://www.nitrorc.com]Nitro RC[/link] a great resource for touring car tire knowledge and how nitro engines work[*][link=http://ebiz.netopia.com/competitionx/informationdatabase/]Competition X[/link] is an aftermarket company for the NTC3. They have a nice tech page here.[*][link=http://users.pandora.be/elvo/]RC Car Dynamics[/link] is a site that explains the forces that make our cars do what they do[*]While you're looking at dynamics, [link=http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/physics_racing/index.htm]Pelican Racing[/link] has an article on full sized racing techniques. But much can be applied ot rc as well.[*]It should be the obvious site, but I list [link=http://www.teamassociated.com/]AE's[/link] own site has setup sheets, Q&A and a FAQ. They are a bit hard to shuffle through but can be found with some drilling.[/ul]

Anyway I think this is a good start so bring on the links guys!

then like igotntc3andrevo said go with a good rubber tire they usally last longer than foams do i use hpi tires they seem to wear decent and give overall decent traction

I would also invest in two sets of tires one with medium inserts and one firm inserts. That way you are set for most traction levels you'll encounter. Unless you break your wheel, you can get a set of rubber tires to last a year easy.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to stay off the boards long enough to find out for my self!
