It's still kinda new so Hop ups aren't really available yet.You really shouldn't need any though. The car was designed to be "top of the line" and uses mostly graphite parts.Look at www.hpiracing.com They have a few parts not not many. They have springs, tires, sway bars, and a one way diff for it so far.

the car is about the same as the other pro touring cars in weight. so what do you mean by "heavy". when steering, accelerating, or jsut it's weight. my r40 feels much lighter than my 1.5kg rs4 ss on the track.

I have been on EBay and there are just now some parts coming out for the R40. They are all anodized aluminum, so may weigh your car down, but it's a start!

I meant woven graphite or carbon fiber to make it a lighter in weight. lighter weight equals more accelaration and speed so i heard. only the upperdeck that is woven graphite. the rest is either metal or plastic. this car has a lot of potential do not get me wrong nor understimate this car just because it is HPI. it is very well balanced and handles very well. at the hands of a good driver this will give those serpents and mugens a run for their money. i guess i will wait until hop-ups comes along. thanks everyone....

do you like that kit? i was thinking about getting one, but i was wondering, does it really come with plastic shocks? seems kinda weak for a pro kit....

Yes it does come with plastic shocks... i kind of like that because of the weight factor. there are parts that should be replaced like shock towers. that should have been plastic or carbon fiber.
but the car is great. sturdy, agile, easy to work with, fully adjustable. it will be fine once those hop-ups comes out...

Lol...aluminum is heavier yes,but it takes less aluminum to equal the strength of the plastic therefore they end up evening out.For all you people worried about weight...I weighed my stock plastic shocks on the SS and I weighed my Hot Bodies aluminum shocks...2/10 of a gram heavier for all four. That is nothing.

Itchy, what are the shock towers made of to begin with?

Not that I know where any hop-ups are for it, but I wish that I could get one along with the other car that I am getting.
