opinion on used RC nitro car
Hi.. I'm hoping that some of you RC veterans can help me make a decision
on a used RC car. This will be my first nitro car.
These are my 2 choices right now... I'm leaning towards the Kyosho but I'd
like to see what you guys think.
Thanks in advance.
Car #1 $120 and needs a radio control
SELLERS POST:
this is a clean kyosho 1/10th scale r/c car. it has a list of upgrades.
O.S. 1hp pullstart racing engine
kyosho carbon fiber upper deck
kyosho upgraded main chasis plate
cross racing aluminum front c-hubs
cen 2-speed trans
upgraded aluminum pulleys
adjustable turnbuckles
aluminum flywheel
racing clutch
nissan 350Z body
Car #2 $120
SELLERS POST:
HPI RS4-2
This car is well maintained and is very clean.
The engine is only about 6 months old (I traded-in the old engine with HPI
for a new engine with a better heat-sink).
Its comes with orginally starter kit, Futaba sport radio control
w/servos and batteries, The car runs well, no major problems,
the only thing you need to change is a new fuel tank.

RE: opinion on used RC nitro car
I just emailed the seller and asked but he hasn't returned my email yet.
The first 2 pictures in my attachments are of the Kyosho.
I was hoping that someone here could answer since the seller seems
like he's not responding to his emails till tomorrow.

I looked on Kyosho's website for their discontinued cars, but couldn't find any pictures to figure out what car it is. I'd check about parts availability in your area for both cars. While i'm pretty sure it shouldn't be too hard to find parts for the RS4 2, the Kyosho may be more of a pain than it's worth.

I agree with kwong. Your lhs probably has more parts for the hpi than the kyosho. Also when you need help, people on the board will be able to help you with a more recognized brand(HPI)

RE: opinion on used RC nitro car
thank you guys soo much. While I've never owned a Nitro car.. I do know about
RC cars. I used to play with a Electric Grasshopper back in the 80's
The kyosho deal seems too good to be true. I think I will go for the RS4-2.
This forum rocks and I'll be sure to post photos when I buy this.
Thanks again.
