Foam tires: The higher the "shore" rating, the more durable the tire at the cost of traction. And the lower the "shore" rating, the more traction the tire at the cost of durability.

For bashing...hmm...If you are just bashing, I really wouldn't be too concerned with traction as durabilty would be of more importance. If you'd like to bash with foams, just get a set of 45 shore foam tires.

What about hpi x-pat tires ? i know mine lasted for a long time (pro -compound) but i guess it all depends what engine your running. and driving style.

ya they said "Made in Japan" on the side of the tire instead of "HPI Racing." Does anybody know of belted radial tires?

The HPI belted Xpatterns are pretty good, speaking secondhand. The only real benefit you get with radials is when running on dusty pebble littered lots. And you will only get a median advantage to a slick. so they are good all-around bashers.

But if you do want some decent handling you should probably get HPI 15-40's. They are pretty durable and get good all-around traction. They can even be raced. They will keep you out of the wall on most days but really arent the "best" in any particular area outside of bang-for-the-buck.

the golden rule of basher tires is stay away from temperature rated tires and go for traction rated tires.

A good resource is the article at [link=http://www.nitrorc.com/]NitroRC[/link].

ive decided to get these, since the tread is pretty deep. The lots im going to are gonna be a little dirty, so i figured these are best out of all radials.

what kind of foams should i use? i was thinking these.....

I got the belted hpi x-pat pro-comp tires with the hard foam inserts and im looking forwared to see how thay do. From what i hear the belted tires will last longer with the hard insert's but with less traction. and a soft inner insert w/ the tire combo will have better grip but the tire's wont last as long.. What engine our you runnin and what kind of pavement are you runnin on?

nah those wont fit. those are 1/8, im lookin for 1/10. if i were to get rally tires, i would get the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGG35&P=7]tamiya block tires[/link]. but the thing is i cant get thick tires because the tire will hit the header, so i need on road tires.

Ah ok, I thought you were looking for 1/8.

I don't have any 1/10, but here some guys have cut air chambers (from bikes) and glued them to their wheels! It lasts much longer and is much cheaper than if you were buying RC tires. No kidding!

With my xs in it the wheels spin a bit but there was a huge handling difference between the rubber and foams
