Is it possible to ignite nitro exshaust gases?

Im pretty sure you cant since its already been burned in the engine.

Only if petrol is fed directly into the exhaust and ignited there. Any fuel which has passed through an engine will have no/very little chance of combusting.
You could make flames come out of an exhaust, but it would be difficult to accomplish and it would not be the actual exhaust gas which was combusting.

nah people just put a spark plug on their exhaust and the a flame wud flicker out

nah people just put a spark plug on their exhaust and the a flame wud flicker out
yeah, but to get flames you shove extra fuel through the engine and when the unburnt fuel exits the exhaust, it burns and makes flames (which really isent good for the engine). there really isn't that much extra gas that comes out of a nitro car to ignite like that.

edit- plus nitro burns clear, so you wouldent see it[:@]

Yeah right! And these cars are modified just for the show, not to be run for everyday life.
