Good on-road kit suggestions?
I have a buddy of mine that wants to get into nitro RC and wants to get a on-road kit. I suggested the HPI Nitro RS4 3 Type SS kit w/Acura RSX Body from tower. Anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks. BTW he doesn't have any RC nitro experience.

I would suggest getting an rtr first, learn all about nitro then get a kit. Tc3+ is a good starter or the rs4 evo.

RE: Good on-road kit suggestions?
I disagree with Piero23 to a point.
Yes get a kit if his budget allows. Because he is more likely to get the car he wants. But if he decidesto go with RTR his learning won't be hindered at all. It's still the same car that will need to be tore down, rebuilt and modded to one's preference.
So I say go by his budget when it comes to RTR vs Kit. However if he wants to race with any regularity I would go with the NTC3. The RS4 needs a lot more work to be truely competitive. If your just bashing, I still lean to NTC3 but he wouldn't be unhappy with the RS4. IF he goes kit, he can go R40 or NTC3 for base level pricing AND be competitive if he races. Course from there the kit prices go up.

RE: Good on-road kit suggestions?
Well thanks for all the replies. My buddy will only be bashing with the car and running it with his son. I've tried to steer him to the RTR NTC3 but he is set on a kit and wants to build it himself. Budget wise he wants to keep it low as possible. That's were I came up with the RS4 3 Type SS kit. I'll have to look over the NTC3 kit again and see what kind out pricing I come up with for a complete RTR setup.
