The third needle isn't really a needle, it's actually a spray bar that the LSN is mounted to. It's just a fine tuning adjustment for the manufacturer to utilize. When you purchase the engine, you never need to touch this third needle. These engines are no more difficult to tune, just don't mess with it.

The third needle is just another way to adjust the low speed needle. I would recomend to leave it alone. But If you really want to play with it make very small adjustments and keep in mind your low speed will change.
