i got a stock rtr rs4 3 and havent used it in while. im lookin to replace the engine, put a 2 speed tran in, a new pipe and new radio. i know wat 2 speed to get and ive got an engine in mind (HPI Nitro Star Pro .12R XS) but have no clue about wat pipe to get and wat i need to upgrade the radio. any other suggestions bout engines wuld be helpful to. thnx

p.s. - i also have bout 300 to spend and dont want a new car cause i wanna learn and get experience with this one

I have the .12R XS and is very nice engine, also if you have the money get the wolf pack radicals 2speed it is much nicer, and the mx3 radio looks great, RDlogics makes good 1 piece exhausts so if you get the .12r xs get one of those

there is nuttin i need to upgrade on the car to change the radio? and wat do i need wen i get the 2speed or is that it?

well if you buy a transmitter (radio) most times it will come w/ servos and a receiver if thats what you mean??

if you want to buy just a transmitter from somewhere make sure its on the same frequency as your receiver you have now, make sure is the same AM OR FM you have now as your receiver and you will need to make sure your on the same channel so get matching crystals which you should have seeing as you have a radio system now

it comes w/ the clutch bell and pinion gears EVERYTHING you need to put your 2 speed on your car!

also if you dont have it allready get some threadlock for the 2 speed youll need it....

If you have the money get the WolfPack Radicals speed, it is a much better unit but the hpi one is good enough[8D]
It is 78 for the complete wolf pack 2speed

i was about to buy that too but its almost double of what hpi sells theirs for PLUS the hpi comes w/ the cluchbell and pinion gears

the W.P. doesnt!

so if you dont have the clutchbell etc. youre looking at $100 just for a 2 speed [:@]

yes but the wolf pack one will give you consistant shifts and can handle high power high rpm engine with out the shift point being all over the palce like with my ss but the hpi is still good and if you don't plan racing your fine

last thing you need is this manifold and i hope you have a starter box[&:] you can't use the ths pipe on the xs it is a rear exhaust engine

my Rossi .12 is a rear exhaust engine and I have a THS pipe???

here look at the difference in these pipe sets one id a side exhaust the other is a rear exhaust

remember I asked you about a header THATS THE HEADER I WAS LOOKING FOR, one that connected to the pipe using springs!!!

the reason why i dont have that header is because I bought this pipe around 2 yrs ago and it was fairly new then and only came w/ a side mount header

MAN I WISH THEY HAD THAT BACK THEN, ive been looking for a header like that FOREVER, but I could NEVER find a header that attached to the pipe using springs

I only found headers that would attach to the engines exhaust port using a spring but then would attact to the pipe using a coupler [:@]!!!

anyone know where i can get a rear exhaust header like that for my gt i have the full system from rdlogics but my header cracked i need a new one but i dont wanna spend 50 on a whole new system

that exhaust won't work with that engine, you can get the manifold and just a plain pipe or you could go to www.rdlogics.com and buy one of there pipes, there very good

a THS pipe will fit in a rs4

Hey CoOcHi3, a THS PIPE WILL fit in your RS4 3

BUT that link you have above for the THS pipe is for the wrong side of the car, its for the DRIVERS side of the car, you DONT want that side pipe for a RS4 3, in a RS4 3 the engine is on mounted on the PASSENGER side so you want a pipe that can be mounted on the passenger side!! If you look carefully at that pipe in your link you wouldve had to turn it upside down to fit in your RS4 3 and the pressure nipple would be on the bottom




heres EXACTLY what you will need for a THS pipe to fit in your RS4 3:
