are you talking when you hold the car up in the air and turn one of the front wheels? the stock hpi diffs are very loose and will do that with out any springs in there

Check for loose or missing pins or other things in the drivetrain. Is this shaft of belt driven car??? So the drivers side rear wheel isnt moving at all?? Is this while driving it or turning it by hand...and have u tried driving it yet with this problem?

the transmission is ok...I also checked the diff, thats fine too

the driver side doesnt move sometimes but its not like it stuck in place, itll still move if the car moves, its not dragging or anything like that

its weird sometimes it will move with the passenger sometimes it wont...if funny!!??

It drives FINE, I was just taking apart my car today to clean and i noticed when I had the car in the air that the driver side rear tire SOMETIMES wouldnt move when the passenger rear wheel would move, it justs confusing because the rear is linked together so shouldnt the driver move w/ the passenger too?

but its NOT causing any problems w/ the car, I just never noticed it before

i know what is wrong

your missing the pin that attaches the drive nut to the axle

take the nut of and if there isnt a small pin going through the axle that is your problem

it happend to me when i tested my car without the wheels on it, (dont do that)

just take a 5d nail and cut it to size and it should fit and work fine

no i dont think thats the problem, if I was missing the pin that connects my universal axle onto the 2 speed shaft, then BOTH rear wheels wouldnt spin at all because they wouldnt be on the 2 speed shaft to get power to turn, plus the axle powers both wheels not just 1

i dont think its a problem? i guess I just never noticed it before

it runs fine, no problems plus like I said it doesnt happen ALL of the time...so its not the wheel is locked in place or stuck and im forcing it to turn, it turns freely

but anyway thanks for the reply though!!

did u try moving both rears in the same direction and see if it goes easily...then try moving them in opposing directions see if there is an awkwardness or something...

i just tried what you said

yes both wheels move in the same direction easy, and when I go in oppisite directions there is no grinding or hesitation or binding up

BUT its funny I did the same thing on the front, I had the same results as I did w/ the rear but i noticed out of all of the wheels my back passenger felt lighter or soemthing when I would turn it, it weird to explain...and the passenger isnt even the one im having problems w/
!!??

oh well ~

....thats really weird...i guess the only thing to do is check the hub carriers pivot balls suspension and everything else aorund that area...maybe u could swap the rear tires with one another and see if it is the wheel itself.

Hey SqueedilySpooch

OK I took apart the whole rear end and inspected EVERYTHING

everything seemed ok

BUT when i go to put the tire on BINGO that did it, I had the wheel nut off and it spun fine but when I tightened the wheel nut IT stopped turning! and felt heavier!

when I put the tire loose it spun w/ the other wheel fine BUT when I tighten the wheel nut it did spin w/ the tire again

Its weird I tighten it just the same as I do ALL of my tires....so I loosened the wheel nut and it spun w/ the tire BUT now the wheel nuts not on tight enough so im afraid im going to loose the wheel now when I drive it?????

do you think the bearing is getting pinched when I tighten the wheel nut???

i figured out where the problem is but I dont know WHAT is causing it?

thanks for any help!!
