Default gears ar'nt kicking in

ok so my frien bought this car and its a 2 speed it shifts and everything but sometimes the gears dont work we will be driving it and it automaticly loses power but the engine can rev but it doesnt move so i shut off the car and as the gears slowed down the gears kicked in again and jumped a bit so if you start it again it works but then the whole thing starts over again after about 50 seconds of driving

If the engine is revving and the drivetrain isn't engaging there is either something wrong with the clutch, or the 2-speed assembly.

It may be that the 1-way bearing in the 2-speed tranny is slipping, so when it changes down from 2-nd to 1'st the drivetrain loses power, but the engine revs. Check there is only a very small amount of oil in the 1-way, and that it does not slip on the shaft. You may also want to check the 2-speed hub for wear.

If it shifts randomly then it is probably the hub. It is likely that the pin in the hub, which moves out to engage 2'nd, is damaged in some way.

Are you sure that the engine bolts arent loosing and cuasing the engine to shift out of place? Try putting a little blue thread lock on the engine bolts.
