Default Tamiya TG10 Mk1 2Speed transmission, HELP!!!

hi

i have a tamiya TG10 mk1 (planning to get a mugen MTX4 soon though!) and i i cant seem to get the 2 speed tranny to change. i hav ajusted it and ajusted it and ajusted it and it still wont change! duz any1 no wot cud be wrong with it?

You probably have to take it apart and clean it. Then adjust it again.

Check that the shifter mechanism itself hasn't worn down or become jammed.

Basically just take the thing apart, check it and put it back together. If it still doesn't work you've missed something.

thanks for the help guys but i have taken it apart, put it back to standard settings, ajusted it slightly each time and i still cant get it to change i have checked the manual and i havent missed anything out.

Is your engine tuned properly? An engine which is running too rich will not create enough revs to cause the car to change gear.

yes, the engine is tuned properly! and i have taked it apart, cleaned it and reassembled it again and it still will not work. i dno what to do

Hit it with a hammer maybe?

The grub screw which secures the 2-speed hub onto the shaft will loosen itself (preventing the car from shifting) if it isn't threadlocked. Also if the shift point is set too early you may not be able to hear it.

LOL. i got it working, i took it apart again (for about the 10th time lol) and i tried putting the one way bearing in the other way even though the manual said to put it in the way i already had it, and it worked!!! so manual was wrong
