How did she do?

ORIGINAL: razzor

Been busy burning the midnight oil.
Finally finished car.
For now I will use my SX12R for the shakedown on the weekend.
Using a Kfactory pipe ,dont know how good they are but they look sweet.
Used Daz'z Brookland setup from 3hobby as base settings for our track.
Cant wait for the weekend.

Rained all weekend ,hoping to do shake down on Saterday.
We have a club meet on Sunday ,so need to run car and hopefully have enough time to dial her in.
Finished my Stratus 3.1 body today.
I usually run a Mazda RX7 or RX8 body as I have a workshop that specialises in Mazda Rotaries but if I need to run with the big boys I better have the right equipment.

As far as bodies go ,I was not sure wich one to get ,eventually settled for Stratus 3.1.
the Nemesis looked good but its hard to find out characteristics of bodies.
I have ordered Blitz bodies and a few prepainted ones ,just need to find a forum with details of what different bodies do.

Ran car today ,put about 11 tanks through it.
The car was awesome !!!
Also got my first crash out of the way.
Cant believe how smooth and precise this chassis is ,I usually have to drive hard to get good lap times.
Tomorrow is club day lets see what happens ..... Ive got 2 thumbs up for G4s.

My new Profi PR 12 ran great as well ,has a really good bottom.

Had a awesome time today racing at our local club.
Car improved as the day went on until a cowboy tboned me in heat3.
In 1st heat I got my fastest lap .7 faster than my personal best ,2nd heat was better by .4 seconds.By the way I won all my heats.
3rd heat I got tangled with the no2 car and had a guy tbone me ,damaged my pipe and got a stop and go penalty but I still managed to take the win.
For final I changed teh pipe to a Kfactory missile pipe which was flat compared to the AxeMotorRossi 2608 pipe.
Qualified 7th in amain my highest as I usually am in B/C mains.
In main I flamed out twice and killed a plug after that I was running ok ,needed more bottom end punch ,finished 5th.
After a good day racing I am over the moon with car ,a few tweeks and all will be good.
I have 5 weeks till the nationals ,so practice makes perfect.

Thanks again to all the guys who are posting and helping us find our groove.

Have to say ,the car is so smooth to drive !!

Sure sounds like you had a great time. As for me i cant say the same for yesturday. 2nd race of the day i broke the front joint cups. I cut the corner to sharp and hit the turn. I was done for the day.

Hey razzor i have a engine question for you. I noticed when i just drive around the parking lot my engine runs great. Now when i am on the track and come into the pits to fuel up my motor seems really reved up. Is my bottom end to lean or rich?

It could be a few things, first could be lean bottom end - do pinch test to get an idea.
Secondly could be your idle is set too high and you using a cold plug tahts fouling up, this is a problem I had.
I use Mega 6 Hot Turbo plug.
If you have a hotter plug try it and see if engine idles high for a fair amount of time and then reduce idle to suit.
Also depends on % nitro used ,compression ,outside temp ,humidity etc...

Come to the race at floyed this sunday and I surely help you out with your engine problems. Don't worry about, just bring a variety of glow plugs mostly 6's and sevens

Maybe thats my problem. I am using RB plug # 5 Hot. Should i try #6 medium or even #5 cold? The engine was running great when the temp was under 80F but as soon as it went over 80F thats when the problem kicked in.

Do you have a address for floyd bennet field. I am trying to get directions on mapquest and cant get it. Maybe even something on the block its on so i can find it.

If i get the car running again by Sunday ill try to come out there.

For this type of weather put in the #6 and anything above 85 or 90 use the 7, for extremyl hot weather like 100 and up go with the 8, the 5 is for times like the winter , or maybe 50 60 degree weather. Check out [link=http://frracers.com]floyed bennit club[/link] for help on how to get there. The field is exit 11s off the belt parkway, continue on doewn the road until you see the turn before the tolls. make the left and go into the parking lot. the track is open so its open every day of the week. as of now you need a personal transponder, but they may have handouts soon. join the floyed bennit field forum.

D-nicest i got directions to get to the field. I would say within 2 weeks or so i should go there. Mapquest said it 51 minutes. Not that bad i guess. First i need to get a transponder and get my sedan body ready.

razzor that i cool looking track.
