Default BIG MPH!

I own a kyosho gt inferno. I'm after a new engine that will give me lots of top end speed. Can i go bigger than .28? Will i need to modify the drive line in order to achieve this? My budget will be around $600. [>:][X(][X(][X(]

If you want speed and thats your budget for a new engine, dont go bigger than a .28. A .21 is perfect for top speed. My suggestions are the RB C5 Rody, Novarossi modified, modified Crono. As far as an engine bigger than a .21 that will still give you top speed, go with a Sirio .27 modded, RB .28 modified, there are many choices out there. The engines I mentioned should get you to about 55mph+

If your wanting insane speeds and have a budget of around $600 bucks like you said, I would definately convert it to a nice brushless setup. You could break 100 or more no problem with a decent setup. check out www.rc-monster.com if you wanna research these motors.

im running an hpi r40 with a .18tzp at 75ish. anything bigger then a .21 is more torque then rpms. if you want speed you usually want rpms. or as the guy above me said, go electric (they're better with the top speed deals)

With 600 bucks you can get a schumacher fusing 21, they stock hit 80 (they have a .21 thunder tiger ttr and 3 speed) some of them are hitting over 110 i think the fastest on the schumacher forum is about 118. www.racing-cars.com is their site, check out the forum

did you guys see last month at the World RC car top speed challenge that a Nitro TC3 converted to electric made a pass at over 160mph. The guy crashed or something so he wasn't able to make the 2nd run to make that speed official, but he still set a record with an electric dirt oval outlaw car at like 120mph.

Thats insane

Visit my thread over at the inferno gt proboards, dedicated to the Inferno GT. Any .21 to .32 engine will fit (see my list for parts needed and mods if you don't box start it). The GT diffs can handle any horsepower, since they come from the Inferno buggy series.

I run a Picco P3 .28, and 15/19 gears, Tiger drive and made some simple mods to use a Tiger Drive on an Inferno chassis. A complete shopping list is there, including every screw needed, mounts, etc, etc.

See my thread and the rest of the boards. Priceless for any GT owner. You'll be hooked and you'll stop asking these 1/10 touring car guys questions they cant answer. (kidding guys).

http://infernogt.proboards102.com/in...ead=1152649110

The 15/19 gears, along with tires that are taller than stock and a screamer high-end engine will put the GT in the 55 MPH range. That's 55 USABLE miles per hour. Everyone that owns a GT knows these suckers are for running on any road, street, parking lot and such.

Here is the Picco P3 .28 installed. Someone over at the proboards has a Surefire .32 and Tsais Duals.

Thanks for the info! Man that guy reaching speeds of 160mph is utterly incredible. Nice to see that there are a few die hard inferno gt fans out there. My local r/c dealer has suggested i go with the os v spec.21? He also said the standard two speed should be fine? Knowledge is power so keep it comin fella's, thanks![8D][8D][8D][>:]

Bkag, you must be on that good stuff lol. Fusion21s can do 80mph, til u get the clutch bell, and after that, you need alot of space for them to reach that. And this talk about 110 and 118mph, no1 hasnt even hit 100mph yet, maybe you have heard this from those people on there that said they hit those speeds, but dont have proof, til I see vids, or at least a setup, I wont buy none of that bs.
It will do 100mph+, but needs much more mods than that, for instance, a modded highend .21...

Schumacher has openly lied about their speed ratings for years.

Too bad, lost all respect for that company.

i have tried and tested the venom speed meter on my fusion. i have NEVER got it into 3rd gear. and i have the stock clutchbell on it, stock engine, the lot.

fastest i have had is 55mph in 2nd gear. so i would expect 65-70 in 3rd. and thats with the standard clutchbell. the high end one could definately push it further. dunno bout 100 mph. but its a rapid car....i have been more than pleased with it.

it hits 55mph no problemo! the ttr is a sweet engine, easy to tune etc. i love my fusion and havnt once regretted buying it.

oh yeah, and i agree with proRacer (vortex) that there alot of people on shueys site that waffle, need to take alot of what you read on there weith a rather large pinch of salt....

To hit 80 in a GT? Gearing would be your obstacle. You don't have choices for spur gears with the two-speed.

WORD!

R40 WITH .18TZ! Give it the purple 2nd gear (the highest teeth count) and whatever the smallest teeth spur (I think 24T) and the R40 is good for 70+MPH! You just need a really long clear roadway to give it time to accelerate to 40000+RPM in 2nd gear!
