hey bob.
whats the problem?? screw stripped? just to tight?
if its just to tight. try a soldering gun to heat the head of the screw.
if its stripped. try grinding a screwdriver slot in the head of screw.

The pinion gear is just to tight to get off. I can't find a way to hold on to the clutchbell to twist the damaged pinion off. I give the heat a try. Thanks

put some electric tape around the clutch bell and use
a pair of channel locks to hold the CB while turning the screw out.
try not to squeeze to hard. you might bend the CB. grab the CB right at the end with the channel locks.
you know where you have a less chance of bending.
good luck.

lock the clutch bell to the crankshaft, use the pinion gear tool and piston locking tool.

Put the clutchbell in the vise just tight enough to grab on to it and use a pair of ajustable pliers (The larger ones with a place to hold on the nuts) to remove the pinion. This worked for me with my RS4.

use a towl folded up to grap the cb with a pair of channel locks at the pinion side of the bell as that where the bell is the strongest, use a standard long l handle allen wrench. a soldering iron is good if its been locktighted. especially if red was used.

listen, find a socket that fits tight into your clutchbell. Now you can grab a hold of it as hard as you want w/ a pair of channel locks, visegrips, or vise and your not going to bend it. If your worried abut scratches , use a towel around it.
