RE: what onroad car
I'm also looking for a 1/10 touring car to get back into onroad stuff. I wouldn't want to get a RTR though, always been a kit guy. Right now, it's a toss up between the Kyosho VoneRRR and the HPI R40 Hara edition. Heard good things about both so haven't really decided yet.

RE: what onroad car
from what I've read and heard, R40 is discontinued.
What do you look for in an RTR? almost all rtr's are shaft driven, so if you prefer belts, you have very few to select from.
I was in your position too for the past 2 years. I walked into a hobbyshop on friday i've NEVER been to. They had a ton of killer deals on touring cars. some electric kyosho with all carbon fiber, they wanted 50 bucks! I managed to pick up a MTX-2 Prospec for 100 bux and am not complaining.
What I am complaining about, is rumors of our only onroad track shutting down now.

rtr huh... get the serpent 710 rtr. its just as good as the all new 720 in all but the best drivers hands- and i mean the best, someone placed top 10 A main in the latest worlds using a 710, even though 720s were already out. i like ofna gpx4 although i have the pro kit not the rtr- but support is weak until ofna starts to pay more attention to its onroad enthusiasts. Kyosho makes a good version of the FW05 in an rtr format if you can get one- the right kit will allow you to upgrade to vonerrr parts! good luck!

what about the hpi rs4 evo is it a good car.

so it really depends on your goals as to which car is BEST FOR YOU. if high level racing is what you're after now- or in the future, it would be wise to invest now in a car that you will not outgrow as your skills progress. if high speed fun and bragging rights mean parking lots and suburban streets, then i'd go with the HPI.

I have an RS4 3 too.. and it is easy to work on and apparantly one of the better cars for playing around with. If you want to RACE though - at an indoor track - get a kit, not an RTR....
I just received my new O@18 cr-v to put in my HPI... I can't wait.
